When the ball is in your hands you have nothing but to make sure that you tossed it toward a great direction. The lord God Almighty has bestowed upon us a responsibility and thus to transform the lives of Salima kids holistically. We have an area where the community leaders, the parents/guardians, kids and stakeholders have accepted and support us fully, what are we supposed to do then? Seize the opportunity and work towards bringing the positive transformation intended.
LIAM bud has now grown into a flower that catches people eyes and radiates a beautiful aromatic delicious smell through all our programs. The focal point which also stands as a binding agent to all programs “the Afterschool Program” has now outgrown our objective and impact area. This is where our beneficiaries have to go through to be a part of our feeding, youth empowerment, home sponsorship and scholarship programs. We do not only look into their day to day attendance in their classes here at our campus, but we also make sure that they go to their various schools on daily basis failure to do that, they are not allowed to come for all other programs. So far we have reached out to almost 2000 kids of which some are in secondary school, dropped out or have moved out of our community. Through this program, we now have about 58 beneficiaries in both secondary and tertiary institutions of which some are still pursuing their dream careers, some graduated and some dropped out due to pregnancies and other life situation beyond our horizon. As we speak, we have about 24 kids on our waiting list to join the scholarship program. ASP is also a bridge that connects us to the youth of our community. We do not go far to look for volunteers, but rather, our gates are always open for the youth to come and join us for voluntary work if the need arises. When they are here, we encourage and empower them to explore while serving the kids through our day to day devotions, bonding time where we allow them connect and try out their field of expertise and also guide them in their career choices if decision making seems to be a challenge. In other words, this is our home where we grow spiritually, socially and have also fun together with the kids.
